Indicators on access to remedies include awareness around existing mechanisms, access to such mechanisms and satisfaction of potential outcomes. Mechanisms and procedures for remedies may be available for the general population or be specifically designed to provide redress for violations unique to IDPs.

It is important to understand specific challenges IDPs may face in accessing remedies, as well as how such access (or lack thereof) affects their choices of a durable solution. Access to remedies is closely linked to access to mechanisms for the restoration of housing, land and property (see Module C:4) as well as safety and security (see Module C:1).
